Preserving Firefighting History,
Inspiring Community Pride
The Delray Beach Firefighters Benevolent is proud to preserve and showcase two unique antique vehicles that serve as living tributes to the rich history of the fire service: a 1938 Ford Model 85 Fire Engine and a 1980 Shay Model A Replica Chief’s Car.

Both vehicles are more than just showpieces—they are powerful tools for connecting with the community. Featured in local parades, events, and public gatherings, they help spark conversations, inspire future generations, and honor those who have served. By preserving these vehicles, we ensure that the proud tradition of firefighting continues to live on, celebrating the past while building bridges to the future.

1938 Ford Model 85 Engine
This beautifully preserved 1938 Ford Model 85 fire engine has a rich and unique history. Originally serving in Taiwan, the engine was later brought to the United States by a resident of the Town of Gulf Stream. Recognizing its historical value and community appeal, the resident generously donated the engine to the Delray Beach Firefighters Benevolent. Today, it serves as both a treasured piece of firefighting history and a proud symbol at community events, helping connect past and present while honoring the legacy of the fire service.
1980 Shay Kit Car (Chief)
This 1980 Shay kit car is a detailed replica of the classic 1929 Ford Model A, designed as a tribute to early fire service vehicles and customized to represent a traditional fire chief’s car. Donated by a generous couple, who were residents of Delray Beach.

Our Generous Sponsors
Delray Concourse has been a long-standing donor and dedicated supporter of our mission, playing a vital role in helping us preserve and share the rich history of the fire service. Through their collaboration with Hagerty Garage + Social, they have made it possible for our antique vehicles to be safely stored and beautifully displayed indoors for the public to enjoy.

Thanks to their partnership, these historic vehicles are not only protected but showcased in a space where they can inspire, educate, and bring joy to visitors of all ages. Their commitment to preserving history and supporting the fire service makes a lasting impact on our community, and we are truly grateful.
